Materials: - Worsted weight (or doubled sport weight), acrylic or cotton
- Crochet hook (suggest H or I sizes)
Chain a length to equal desired width in multiples of 2 + 1. Row 1 (right side): dc into 4th ch from hook, dc in each stitch across, ch3, turn. Row 2: dc in next 2 sts, [skip next st, dc in next st, dc in skipped st (X-stitch made)], repeat X-stitch to last 3 sts, dc in next 3 sts, ch1, turn. Row 3: sc in each st across. Row 4: Repeat row 2. Rep rows 3 and 4 until desired size, end row 4. Last Row: dc in each st across. Fasten off. This pattern uses an advanced stitch and is well worth the effort. Hint for best results in finishing is to leave ends long and weave the ends through the work using a tapestry needle.
