This is a very easy pattern that can do without any difficulty. One pillow can be done within the scope of one good movie. So gather your crochet hook, cotton yarn, pick a good movie and start making these wonderful little cage items.

Materials:
Worsted-weight cotton yarn
Crochet hook size G

Stitches:
SC (single crochet)

Row 1. Chain 36 sts.
Row 2. SC in second chain from hook, SC in each st across, ch 1, turn.
Repeat row 2 until desired length.
Finishing: SC short sides together and SC down own side, leaving one end open. Do not break off. Fill pillow with fiberfill. SC the last side to close. Weave long end through work.

Alternate Pattern 1: Add catnip to make this a cat toy. If you decide to do this, whipstitch the last short side so that the pillow can be opened, emptied and washed. After washing, it can be refilled and whipstitched closed again.

Alternate Pattern 2: Dog Snuggle Pillow. This needs to be a larger version of the above pattern. Just convert number of stitches to desired width and work to desired length in the same pattern as above.
