Materials
Worsted-weight yarn (1 skein Red, small amount White)
Knitting needles size 9
Pattern Note
This pattern is using a smocking stitch over a wide-ribbed stockinette.
Instructions

Make Two. Cast on a number of stitches to desired width in multiples of 4, plus 1. Keep in mind that you will want the smocking to present an even pattern. For a small Snuggle, we cast on 57 stitches.

Row 1 (right side): *K1, p3; repeat from *, end K1.

Row 2: *P1, K3; repeat from *, end P1.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 for wide-ribbed stockinette until desired length. Finish off.

Smocking: Front Piece Only. With a contrasting yarn, work stitches and rows for smocking. In this pattern, we use every 6 stitches and every 6 rows. With right side facing, work smock stitch over the front section. Tie off on wrong side. Do not smock the second piece.

Finishing: Using a tapestry needle or crochet hook, sew or single-crochet around edges of both pieces (wrong sides together) taking care to line up the rows as you work.

Hint for best results in finishing is to leave ends long and weave the ends through the work using a tapestry needle.
